Abstract
With life expectancy heading towards 100 years of age, many of us are facing the challenge of having to work longer to support ourselves financially. However, the nature of work itself is changing: career paths are becoming more fluid, offering exciting opportunities for professional and personal growth across the lifespan. In this session, I will outline some of the emerging issues surrounding career planning for young and older people in view of a greater life expectancy: Preparing for a multitrack life-career at young age, managing identity changes, and restructuring social and working lives to retain a healthy work-life balance in the context of an extended work life. The session is interactive and everyone is invited to share their experiences with these issues.
