Behind the Scenes: An operational view of the reading list challenge

Abstract - Achieving a comprehensive coverage of reading lists across the university is a continuous challenge for academic libraries. By focusing and streamlining the reading list workflow, Leeds Beckett University Library has achieved 95% coverage of lists across all subject areas. With this in mind, this presentation will discuss the historical implementation of Rebus:list - our reading list management system, the challenges and achievements of this ‘behind the scenes’ method, as well as the future sustainability of this approach. By discussing the outcomes and what was learned through the process, attendees will gain some insight into a systematic Collections and Acquisitions approach to the reading list challenge.
